| Vivo X Fold 5 |
New information is now emerging regarding the successor to the Vivo X Fold 5, launched this year. The company is rapidly working on its next foldable model, the Vivo X Fold 6. Chinese blogger Smart Pikachu has stated in a post that Vivo may launch this phone next year, and some key details of an early test model have now emerged.
These leaks suggest that Vivo is preparing to make significant changes to the foldable phone's design, camera, and performance this time around.
According to the leak, the Vivo X Fold 6 will use the Snapdragon 8G5 chipset, built on TSMC's 3nm N3P process, and its AnTuTu score has been reported to be above 1.5 million in initial tests. This means it will significantly surpass the X Fold 5 in terms of performance.
The fingerprint sensor will also see a major change this time around. Instead of an in-display fingerprint sensor, the phone may feature a side-mounted ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which could eliminate sensor issues common with foldable screens.
Design-wise, this model will come with an 8.1-inch inner foldable screen, and the outer screen may also see a slight upgrade.
The camera setup could be a key highlight of this phone. Reports suggest that the Vivo X Fold 6 will use a 200MP sensor, likely paired with a periscope telephoto lens. This could provide approximately 3x optical zoom and be beneficial in low-light photography.
Regarding launch and pricing, the company hasn't yet made any official announcement, but it's expected that Vivo will launch it in the first quarter of 2026. The price could be slightly higher than the X Fold 5, as the processor and camera upgrades are significant this time around.
