Huawei is preparing to launch its new Mate 80 series on November 25, 2025. But this time, not just phones, the company will also introduce a brand new 2-in-1 tablet, information about which has been shared by renowned tipster Digital Chat Station.
According to the leak, this tablet may be named MatePad Edge, and it is believed to be the most premium model in Huawei's MatePad lineup.
First, let's talk about design and display. The MatePad Edge will feature a large 14.2-inch OLED display with PaperMatte technology. This technology makes the screen reflection-free, making reading, writing, and designing tasks much more comfortable.
The tablet is available in two color options—Moonlight Silver and Space Gray. It will also feel like a laptop when held, as it will feature both a keyboard and stylus support.
Speaking of performance, the MatePad Edge is expected to feature the company's Kirin 9 series chipset, which is designed to deliver flagship-level performance. According to tipsters, the tablet will offer a standalone PC-like experience based on HarmonyOS. This means you can operate it as a tablet or, if desired, use it as a lightweight laptop by attaching a keyboard.
Regarding RAM and storage, two variants have been revealed in the leak:
- • 16GB + 512GB
- • 24GB + 1TB
These configurations make it robust enough for professional use.
Another unique feature of this MatePad is its built-in fan, which will keep the device cool during prolonged use. File sharing and multi-device connectivity between phones, PCs, and tablets will also be seamless due to the HarmonyOS ecosystem.
Pricing details are not yet available, but according to leaks, the company may start the pre-heating campaign for the MatePad Edge alongside the Mate 80 series next week.
