Vivo is set to launch its new smartphone next month, in December, and several key details about the upcoming Vivo S50 series have already surfaced. The company is preparing to take the S-series to a new level this time. According to the leak, its internal codename is "Battle Angel," which suggests a new design and upgraded features.
Vivo is introducing this series for the first time in a mid-range segment, aiming to provide users with a 3S-level flagship experience. This means clear improvements will be seen across design, camera, and performance. Most importantly, the company is offering hardware in the S-series that's typically found in flagship phones.
Let's start with the chipset—the Vivo S50 series will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This chip has only been seen in premium smartphones until now, making it unique in the mid-range. The camera setup is also quite interesting, featuring a Sony IMX882 periscope telephoto lens, which will deliver significantly better photo and zoom quality than the standard S-series.
For security, the phone will feature a 3D Ultrasonic Fingerprint 2.0 sensor, designed for fast and accurate unlocking. This is the same technology found in many high-end smartphones. Regarding the design, Vivo has maintained a minimalist and lightweight look. This means the phone will feel slim and comfortable to hold.

Vivo claims the S50 series is the most advanced S-series yet. The company is focusing on three things—chip, imaging, and overall user experience. This is why it's being called "Super S." Vivo aims to become the top-selling brand in China by the fourth quarter, and the S50 could play a key role in this goal.
