Whatever the name, the next Mate X foldable is expected to come with significant changes. Most interestingly, the device is rumored to feature 20GB of RAM, a significant upgrade from the previous Mate X6's 16GB. This would be the first time a foldable phone has seen this much storage.
Regarding the design, sources like Fixed Focus Digital have shared some concept sketches, which indicate that the camera setup may be completely redesigned this time around. Compared to the previous Mate X series, the camera module appears more modern, simple, and fixed in size. It's unclear which sketch is closest to the final design, but based on the leaks, it appears that Huawei will introduce a new visual identity for its foldable phone this time around.
In the foldable market, almost all major brands—Samsung, Google, Vivo, Honor, and Oppo—have launched their new book-style foldable series. Huawei and Xiaomi were the only ones left to be awaited. Xiaomi is reportedly set to release the Xiaomi 17 Fold next year, and now Huawei also appears to be close to updating the Mate X series.
There's no definitive indication of pricing or a launch date yet, but reports suggest Huawei could introduce this model in China soon.
Colour options haven't been revealed, but it's expected to be available in premium shades like its predecessor.
