SmartSens has officially launched its new 200MP CMOS image sensor, the SCC80XS, designed for next-generation high-end smartphones. The company says this sensor will take mobile photography to a new level.
It is built on advanced 22 nm stacked process technology, delivering improved performance, low power consumption, and superb color reproduction.
Design and Technology
The SCC80XS features a 0.61 μm pixel size and a 1/1.28-inch optical format, making it one of the most advanced mobile camera sensors ever. It is based on SmartSens' SmartClarity-SL Pro technology, which delivers high resolution, improved sensitivity, and dynamic range. The company has used its exclusive SFCPixel-SL, PixGain HDR, and AllPix ADAF technologies.
Image Quality and Performance
This sensor is capable of capturing Ultra-HD images up to 200MP. It also supports 2x (50MP) and 4x (12.5MP) in-sensor zoom, providing better focus and detail in both close-up and distant shots.

It also performs well in night and low-light scenes. According to the company, read noise is approximately 0.7e⁻ in 200MP and 50MP modes, making night photography more clear and natural.
Video and Dynamic Range
For video recording, it supports PixGain HDR, which provides a dynamic range of up to 85 dB. It maintains detail in both highlights and shadows. The SCC80XS supports 4K 120 fps standard video and 4K 60 fps HDR video recording, delivering a professional-grade video experience.
Focus and Power Efficiency
The sensor features AllPix ADAF and Sparse PDAF autofocus systems, which automatically adjust focus modes based on scene lighting. This provides fast and accurate focusing even in low light. Furthermore, the company has focused on power efficiency to reduce heating and battery life during long recording sessions.
Launch Timeline
Samples of the SmartSens SCC80XS will be available in November 2025, with mass production beginning in Q1 2026. It can be used as the main or telephoto camera in premium flagship smartphones.
This 200MP sensor from SmartSens is considered a big step in mobile imaging technology, which will bring new creativity and clarity to upcoming flagship phones.
