OnePlus is set to launch its new flagship series, the OnePlus 15, this month, and ahead of that, the company has unveiled its screen technology. At the launch event on October 14th at 12 noon, the company will unveil its third-generation
Oriental Display, which is being called "the most advanced smartphone screen ever." OnePlus China President Li Jie described it as "a moon landing moment in display technology."
The screen's biggest highlight is its 165 Hz ultra-high refresh rate and high-resolution support. Until now, achieving both simultaneously has been technically difficult, but OnePlus and BOE have broken this barrier.
This means users will experience smoother, clearer, and more natural display quality than ever before—whether they're playing games or watching high-frame-rate videos.
The OnePlus 15's screen is the Android platform's first "True Hardware Unit Dark Night Display," which maintains consistent color and brightness in all lighting conditions. This means that every detail will be clearly visible even at night, and there will be no additional strain on the eyes.
This is why this screen has received TÜV Rheinland Smart Eye Protection 5.0 Gold Label certification—a world-first for a smartphone display.
With the new Bright Vision Eye Protection Technology, the screen manages low blue light, low flicker, and low brightness at the hardware level, ensuring eye protection. It was developed in collaboration with medical and display experts to provide users with a "natural light-like experience."
According to Li Jie, the OnePlus 15's screen has achieved nine world records and eight technical breakthroughs. It demonstrates leadership in four key areas: smoothness, display quality, dark display, and eye protection.
Additionally, the phone will feature ultra-thin symmetrical bezels of 1.15 mm, providing a more balanced and immersive viewing experience.
The OnePlus 15's screen, co-developed by BOE and OnePlus, takes "Chinese Display Technology" to a new level. The company says it's not just an upgrade but a major step in the history of smartphone displays.
Key highlights: 165 Hz refresh rate, 1 nit hardware dark display, TÜV Gold Label certification, and next-gen eye protection technology.
