Xiaomi is preparing to launch its Xiaomi 17 series soon, which has been generating considerable buzz even before its launch. Notably, the company has skipped the Xiaomi 16 series entirely and has begun work directly on the Xiaomi 17 series. This decision is believed to have been made keeping in mind Apple's iPhone 17 nomenclature.
The biggest highlight of the new model is its 6330 mAh battery pack. While initial rumors suggested a 7000 mAh battery, even 6330 mAh is considered a large enough battery for a phone with a 6.3-inch screen. This battery is a significant upgrade over the previous-generation Xiaomi 15 and will be able to provide longer power.
The smaller 2.9-inch display on the back panel of the Pro and Pro Max models of the Xiaomi 17 series is also attracting attention. This mini-screen will be located on the camera plate and will benefit from features like camera controls and notifications. Speaking of the camera setup, it will feature a 50MP primary camera, which is expected to enhance the photography experience.

Charging speeds are also notable, along with the battery. The Xiaomi 17 will support 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse charging. This means the phone will not only be able to charge quickly, but it will also be able to charge other devices.
Speaking of the processor, this series will feature the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which, along with powerful performance, could prove to be excellent for gaming and multitasking.
A unique Retro Handheld Console Case for the Xiaomi 17 Pro series is also being discussed. It features physical buttons and a 200 mAh battery. It is claimed that games like Classic Snake and Angry Birds 2 can be played on the back display with this case. However, it is not yet clear whether this feature is real or just a rumor.
