Apple is preparing to take its iPhone design to a new level in the coming years. According to renowned leaker Digital Chat Station, the company plans to launch an iPhone by 2027 with the front camera completely hidden under the display. This will be the year the iPhone celebrates its 20th anniversary, and Apple is expected to introduce a model with a completely bezel-less display without any cutouts.

According to reports, Apple will first shift Face ID under the screen in the iPhone 18 Pro models coming in 2026. After that, the front camera will also be under the display in the iPhones coming in 2027, giving the phones a completely "all-screen" look.

Android brands have already introduced under-display camera technology, but their photo quality has often been poor. To address this shortcoming, Apple is working with suppliers like LG Innotek on a new technology called "Freeform Optic." This technology will increase the amount of light passing through the display layer above the camera, improving the brightness and sharpness of photos.

According to sources, Apple may also be testing this under-display camera system in its first foldable iPhone. If successful, this technology will be fully developed in the upcoming iPhone by 2027. It is being said that the company may use a 24MP high-resolution camera this time—which will provide much better image quality than current under-display cameras.

Apple's goal is to not only make the upcoming iPhone more premium but also to introduce a completely all-screen design, without any notches or punch-holes. This update will be very special for Apple fans, as this model, launching in 2027, will also celebrate the company's 20th anniversary.
