Honor is once again preparing to disrupt the performance segment. Recently, Chinese blogger Smart Pikachu posted on Weibo, revealing that Honor will soon launch its new performance phone, the Honor GT 2 series.
Interestingly, the company is currently preparing for the launch of its Honor 500 series, and the release of information about the next GT series phone is exciting for fans. The new Honor GT 2 will be the successor to last year's Honor GT, which was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
According to leaks, the Honor GT 2 will feature a large 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED flat display with support for a 165 Hz refresh rate. This display will not only provide a smooth gaming experience but also provide excellent outdoor visibility with a peak brightness of 4000 nits. The phone's frame will be made of metal, giving it a premium and sturdy look.
The Honor GT 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite (3 nm) chipset, while the GT 2 Pro variant will feature the Snapdragon 8 Ultra Gen 5 chip. Both chipsets are among this year's most powerful mobile platforms.
The GT 2's AnTuTu score is reported to exceed 1.2 million, while the Pro version can reach 1.5 million. The phone will come with Android 16 based on MagicOS 10, which promises AI gaming optimization and four years of software updates.
The Honor GT 2's camera setup will feature a 50MP Sony IMX906 sensor with OIS support. It will also be accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide lens and a 16MP front camera. The GT 2 Pro will have a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP periscope lens (3x zoom).
The biggest highlight is its 9,000 mAh battery, which will support 100 W fast charging. The company claims this battery can provide up to two days of backup—a significant advantage for gamers and power users.
The Chinese launch is expected in December 2025 or January 2026, with a global rollout expected in April-May 2026.
The Honor GT 2 will come in two variants—12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB—while the GT 2 Pro will have 512GB and 1TB storage options.
