Xiaomi 17 Air Leak: 6mm Thin with 200MP Camera & eSIM—Beats iPhone Air?

Xiaomi recently launched its 17 series, and now a new report claims that the company is working on a new model in this series—the Xiaomi 17 Air. This phone is particularly in the news for its extremely thin and lightweight design. According to reports, the Xiaomi 17 Air could be introduced in the "ultra-slim phone" category, meaning its frame could be in the 6 mm class.

Indeed, many companies are focusing on lightweight and thin smartphones in 2025. Samsung launched its Galaxy S25 Edge, and Apple introduced the iPhone Air. Although market demand for both models was not as expected, it appears that Xiaomi is preparing to advance this trend in a new way.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 17 Air is expected to feature a 6.6-inch, 1.5K display and a 200MP main camera—even more advanced than the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The phone will also have full eSIM support, meaning it won't have a physical SIM slot. This will help keep the phone's design slimmer.

Regarding the battery, Xiaomi is expected to pack a battery around 5000 mAh. The company already uses silicon-carbon battery technology, allowing it to fit high-capacity batteries into thin phones.

There's no official confirmation regarding the Xiaomi 17 Air yet, but leaks clearly indicate that this phone will be a unique device in terms of both design and technology. If launched, it could prove to be a practical and affordable alternative to the iPhone Air and Galaxy S25 Edge.
