New information has come to light about the soon-to-be-launched Xiaomi 16 Ultra. The latest leak has revealed that this time the company is going to use the OmniVision OV50X sensor in its Ultra flagship. Till now Xiaomi mostly used Sony's 1-inch sensor in its Ultra series, but this time the company has changed direction and chosen OmniVision.
Another interesting piece of information has come to light: Leica's logo will be printed on the body of the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. This means that Leica will be involved in camera tuning and image processing, which is expected to make the photography experience even better.
Talking about the camera, this 50MP OV50X sensor from OmniVision was launched in April and is specially designed for premium smartphones. It has features like 1.6 micron pixel size, single-exposure HDR up to about 110 dB, 4-in-1 pixel binning, 8K video recording, and 180 fps high-speed shooting. Also, it has 100% quad-phase detection autofocus, which will help in fast and accurate focusing.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra launched last year had Sony's LYT900 sensor, but this new move by Xiaomi shows that the company does not want to depend only on Sony in camera technology. In the coming time, this trend can be seen in other flagship phones of Xiaomi as well.
Apart from the camera, more major upgrades will be seen in the Xiaomi 16 Ultra. According to reports, this phone will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor. To power it, a large 7000 mAh battery can be given, which will support 100 W fast charging.
The launch of the Xiaomi Mi 16 series is believed to be around September 25. There is no confirmed information about the price yet, but it is expected that it will be placed in the premium segment. From camera sensor to battery and processor, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is preparing to enter the market with big changes this time.
