Samsung Galaxy S26 Thickness– A Glimpse at the 6.9mm thin Body and Camera Upgrades

Samsung's next flagship series, the Galaxy S26 Series, isn't far off. Reports suggest the series will launch in February 2026. Ahead of the launch, several details about the series are emerging. The most recent leak concerns its thickness.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Thickness

According to reports, the standard Galaxy S26 will be just 6.9 mm thick—significantly thinner than last year's Galaxy S25 (7.6 mm). This change reflects Samsung's new design strategy, which includes a lightweight and slim body structure. Interestingly, despite such a thin body, the phones' performance and battery capacity haven't been compromised.

According to leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy S26+ could be 7.1 mm thick, while the S26 Ultra could be 7.9 mm thick. Samsung has used high-density batteries and thin materials to achieve this slimness. However, the camera bump could increase the phone's overall thickness to approximately 9.4 mm. This is why some people are asking, "If the phone is so slim, why isn't it named the S26 Air?"

Reports suggest that Samsung is keeping the "Air" name exclusively for its A Series while maintaining the S Series in the premium category. Therefore, the company will likely introduce it as either "S26" or "S26 Slim."

Now, let's talk about camera upgrades. The Galaxy S26 Ultra adds a new 24MP mode, available in the default camera app. Both photo and portrait modes will now offer more detail and improved low-light performance. Additionally, the phone is expected to feature a 200MP main camera, a 12MP 3x telephoto sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP 5x telephoto camera.

Compared to the S25 Ultra, the camera bump will be slightly larger this time around, with the aperture being increased and the image stabilization system being improved. These changes are expected to bring noticeable improvements to photo quality.
