Samsung is soon going to upgrade its One UI to the next version, One UI 8.5. According to recent reports, the company will introduce professional-grade camera tools with this update. It's believed that these features will first be seen on the Galaxy S26 series.

Log videos are typically recorded in flat, gray-toned colors, making color editing easier later. LUT support will now make video editing much easier, as it will allow for the use of pre-existing color presets like Standard, Blockbuster, Thriller, and Romantic Comedy.
This can be interpreted as working similarly to a photo filter but making video quality more professional.
The second major change is the option for 3D shooting. Users will no longer have to rely on third-party apps to record spatial videos and photos. One UI 8.5's camera app code mentions this feature and hints at a new format, APV (Advanced Professional Video). However, early code suggests this feature may be limited to the main camera, and its low-light performance will be limited.
Samsung already offered the option of log video shooting in the Galaxy S25 series and S24 Ultra. Now, with One UI 8.5, the S26 series can take this even further and offer a more pro-level videography experience. It's expected that these features will be fully activated at the time of the Galaxy S26 series' launch.
